About me

FOMO – Fear Of Missing Out.

FOMOist – A completely made up term (by yours truly) for a person with FOMO.

Mr and Mrs FOMOistI didn’t think FOMO was a thing, until I discovered I had the most chronic case of it.

Hi, and welcome to my blog.

I am Manmeet, and no it’s not my p0rn name, but the name my parents gave me. I am a 30 something guy, born in India, brought up in New Zealand,  a home-owner in Australia and living in London with my beautiful wife.

As you may have guessed by now, I am not very good at keeping still. Some may see it as an issue, but I think it’s a blessing. My FOMOism has allowed me to explore new places, meet some amazing people and make some life-long friends around the world.

I moved to Australia to be with the girl of my dreams. Thankfully the risk paid off! We bought a house together and got married in early 2014 after being together to over 5 years. Later that year, my wife and I decided that we wanted to move to the Northern Hemisphere to explore the intriguing world of Europe.

So we put our house on rent, packed our life into boxes, packed some extremely warm clothes and left for our life in London in October 2014. We moved without jobs, and without knowing a soul on this side of the planet. Stupid? May be, did it pay off? We are living the dream!

This blog will definitely have a strong travel theme to it, with a whole lot of randomness thrown in there for good measure and entertainment. So if you have any questions or comments, I’d love to hear from you!

Oh, my wife is a wizz with Instagram so I’ll be using a lot of her photos on this blog. You can follow her Instagram below.

  1. Hello Manmeet, enjoyed reading your interview on Bea’s blog. You are not crazy to move to London without jobs. Adventurous, yes. London does that to the best of us. I have just moved from the UK to the US with my husband and we are both missing it like crazy. Cheers.

    1. US will be an exciting move if you’ve lived in the UK most of your life. For us, London really feels like home and we couldn’t be happier. Good luck with your adventures too.

      1. Actually, most of my life has been lived in India, Manmeet. We lived in the UK for five years but it became my soul country so fast that I knew not how. London is the best home you could have, and on a cheesier note (but true one), when you have your loved one with you, you could be at home anywhere.

Thank you for the kind wishes. Do have a few pints for us tomorrow. How I miss those evenings of drinking in London and Northampton.
